Easy homemade applesauce (no sugar!)

Applesauce is delicious and so easy to make yourself. Enjoy this yummy, gut-healthy snack that you can make in less than half an hour!

  • 5 medium apples organic
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger, cloves, allspice, nutmeg optional
  • Honey or maple syrup optional


  1. Wash apples, or soak apples in water with one tablespoon white vinegar for at least 5 minutes (this reduces the molds and bacteria that could be on the skin)

  2. Cut up all apples

  3. Put the apple pieces in a pot and fill with enough filtered water to cover 1/3 the height of the apples

  4. Add cinnamon and other spices, mix

  5. Boil apples on medium-high heat, cover, and stir regularly, until skins start to shine (5-10 minutes)

  6. Turn off heat and blend applesauce with an immersion blender

  7. Eat immediately or store your applesauce to enjoy later!
